![]() History- Craig Rawson Craig Rawson’s formal introduction into sound was as a student worker in the Audio Visual Department of Loma Linda University, La Sierra Campus. Even as a student he was asked by the college to produce their recruitment presentation. This was done in the form of a three screen, seven projector, multimedia program. After graduating with a degree in Industrial Studies, he accepted the position of AV Assistant Director. He quickly advanced to AV Department Chairman. It became well known on campus that if you wanted something done in video, sound, or projection Mr. Rawson could do it. Not satisfied with the normal AV tasks Mr. Rawson also started a small company, Mood Sounds Productions. This company provided a portable four-channel recording studio, custom Public Address systems for outside or garden weddings, and other unique occasions. He later provided professional photography and video taping services. He continued this for approximately 9 years. As Chairman of his churches’ AV department he worked closely and even made design changes to a $50,000.00 speaker system remodel. Following that he completely redesigned and implemented the rewire and install of a new $50,000.00 house PA and recording mix system that produced audio feeds for two radio stations and an in-house video production studio. In 1984 Mr. Rawson received his M.S. in Communication Disorders, specializing in Audiology. With this degree he received training in Speech Science and other aspects of human hearing. During his externship he was fortunate to contract with a manufacturing company. This plant had offices over the plant. The job was to completely remodel the office complex. Using design and materials he created plans that successfully reduced the sound transmission in the offices to the customer’s specification. He was also asked to prepare materials and act as a professional witness in a court case involving a motel who was sued for not providing enough sound insulation between floors. He successfully created scenarios, made calibrated recordings, and took readings that resulted in the plaintiff dropping the suit. Not satisfied with job prospects in Audiology he returned to audio and became an on-air radio announcer. Quickly management noticed his skills in sound and he was shifted to the engineering section where he assisted in the complete remodel and rewiring of a three-production room AM transmission facility. Success in this venture led to his becoming a contract engineer with Salem Communications, the parent company of the radio station. In this capacity he assisted in the complete rewiring of a very directional FM transmitter facility using an untried phantom tower concept. Anywhere Audio was formed June 1995, in Fort Worth Texas. It is a combination of the two disciplines of Communication Disorders, Audiology and Sound Engineering. While mostly concerned with Audiology it has constantly assisted in remodeling or re-engineering of sound systems in the churches Mr. Rawson has attended.
